Pastor David Covarrubias was born and raised in Southern California. In 1981, he was introduced to Jesus at Calvary Chapel Brea at a youth movie night. After bouncing around to several churches, he settled in under the teaching of Pastor Raul Ries at Calvary Chapel Golden Springs. It was there where the Lord captured David’s heart and he accepted the call to serve Him. In 1997, he met his wife Patty and they were married the following year, blending a family of six children, a dog, and a cat.
From 1998 to 2001. David attended and completed the Calvary Chapel School of Ministry. While serving at CC Golden Springs (teaching in the Bible College, home fellowships and Children’s ministry), David continued to pray about how the Lord would use him.
Before they were married, his wife Patty attended Calvary Chapel Solano when they were meeting at an address on Tabor Road. It was then that David was introduced to Pastor Joseph and the CC Solano fellowship. David was always impressed that Pastor Joseph would inquire about David’s studies and would keep him in prayer to continue in ministry.
After three years of serving at CC Golden Springs and praying for guidance, the Lord called David to serve in the youth ministry at CC Solano. The call was bittersweet as this meant a physical move from Southern to Northern California. The Lord had His hand on all of it and the move was completed in June 2004. In April 2005, Pastor David was ordained as an assistant pastor, overseeing the Children’s and Youth ministries.
Pastor David is currently on staff at CC Solano and is pursuing a second degree in Biblical Studies through Trinity Biblical University. By trade, David is employed with a manufacturer which provides hand tools to the Industrial channel. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys the occasional “game day” fellowship, but most of all, he enjoys serving the Lord with his wife, children, and his brothers & sisters in Christ.
